For Christmas 2023 it's all about gloss - many new products are launching right now in Korea claiming to protect the skin's moisture from the cold wind.
In contrast to last year, which was all about matte makeup with an elegant finish, this year, moisture is the key to makeup products. Many new releases are emphasizing gloss to express enough moisture.
K-Beauty Council To Target Counterfeits
The issue of counterfeits is a real problem in the beauty industry globally, including K-Beauty. According to one brand protection company, counterfeiting costs beauty brands about $5.4 billion in sales losses every year.
As the popularity of K-brand products has increased, the sales of counterfeit products has also increased significantly. In response, a "K-Brand Counterfeit Public-Private Joint Response Council" will be launched to actively respond to counterfeit K-Brand products together.
The Korean Intellectual Property Office announced that it has signed a business agreement with major industries such as the Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency and the Korea Cosmetics Association to jointly respond to counterfeit products.
According to the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the number of cases where K-beauty companies' trademarks have been preempted overseas without permission has soared over the past three years.
Many K-Beauty brands have been targeted, including COSRX and Laneige.

No, not unless it’s prescribed to them by a dermatologist.
I wouldn’t be going out and spending lots of money on expensive anti-aging products for teens. There are multiple reasons for this:
Expensive anti-aging active skincare is not formulated for teenage skin
Teenage skin is often still quite weak and delicate; it is easy to disrupt the skin's natural barrier.
If skin is persistently breaking out it is better to consult with a professional for a proper diagnosis rather than trying to treat it at home. This can help prevent scaring.
